Saab yesterday unveiled a customized version of the 9-7X, called Saab 9-7X Aero Concept, at the SEMA show in Las Vegas. In a collaboration with DUB, Saab takes its first ever SUV, and decks it out with inspiration from the automaker’s Aero X Concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show.

While the Saab 9-3 is not scheduled a full redesign until 2010, Saab enthusiast site Trollhättansaab.net is reporting that automaker is working on an extensive reskin for next summer. The restyled 9-3 is expected feature design cues from the Aero X concept car shown in Geneva.

Saab will replace its Chevy Trailblazer-based 9-7X SUV with a crossover, which is likely to take the 9-4X name, said Saab U.S.A’s General Manager Jay Spenchian. The new Saab crossover would overlap a bit with the 9-7X before that vehicle — and the Trailblazer it is based on — is discontinued by 2010.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) ordered the recall of 11,886 2001 model year Saab 9-3 cars because of faulty fuel lines and fittings.
