Mazda Motor announced the launch of its new CX-7 crossover in the Japanese market. The CX-7 went on sale nationwide at all Mazda, Mazda Anfini and Mazda Autozam dealers. The concept for the CX-7 is a “sport crossover SUV”, fusing a sports car and SUV.

Spy photographers caught a prototype of the next-generation Mazda2. Based on the Ford Fiesta, mildly disguised prototype is sporting a lot of Mazda styling cues, including RX-8-like front fenders. While no laws were broken and Toyota did nothing wrong, the Japanese government will reprimand the automaker for failing to act more quickly in a recall case that is now under criminal investigation. Toyota will be issued administrative “guidance” — a public scolding — along with a demand that Toyota improve its recall procedures.
