DaimlerChrysler today published its preliminary financial results for 2006. Despite a significant decline in earnings at the Chrysler Group, DCX recorded an operating profit of $7.28 billion in 2006, in comparision to $6.843 million in 2005. DaimlerChrysler total revenues increased by 1 percent to $200.1 billion.

The Chrysler Group today announced a three-year plan that will cut 13,000 jobs and close its Newark, Del., assembly plant, which builds the Dodge Durango and Chrysler Aspen SUVs. The Recovery and Transformation Plan seeks to return the automaker to profitability by 2008.
