Earlier this week we reported that BMW was scheduled to unveil a concept version of its M3 at the Geneva Motor Show. One of the key differences between the concept and the production version will be the license plate holder on the concept will be in the lower bumper area, while the production model will have the license plate on the trunk lid.

BMW has now begun taking virtually undisguised (just a few strips of tape have been digitally removed) copies of its E92 M3 out for testing, and Hans G Lehmann has snapped the first shots.

The new M3 looks impressive, albeit very subtle.
