Porsche has said it will not consider offering a diesel engine in its cars to comply with future carbon-dioxide emissions limits. However, Porsche has said that it is developing a hybrid drivetrain, which is first expected in the next generation Cayenne.

Porsche, Volkswagen and Audi will jointly develop the gas-electric hybrid system that will be used in the Cayenne, Touareg and Q7 models.
