Sneak Peak: Illustrated 2008 Subaru Impreza STi

We’ve seen well-disguised prototypes of the 2008 Subaru Impreza in spy shots, but these illustration are the first ones we’ve seen that appear to accurately represent the forthcoming Impreza WRX STI. As expected, Subaru will dump the unpopular airplane propeller motif — inspired by Subaru’s aviation heritage.

Inspired by the B5-TPH concept car, the new Impreza will be available in a new 5-door hatchback model to compete with the popular Mazda3, Rabbit 5-door, and Audi A3. The new Impreza is expected to be shorter and wider than the current model.

The 2008 Impreza will officially debut at the 2007 New York Auto Show in April, but until then, check out the illustrations after the jump.
