Porsche is preparing its Boxster for a mid-cycle facelift. Due for the start of the 2008 model year, the Boxster will sport revised front and rear fascias and will feature a few significant mechanical changes. Up front, the Boxster will get a restyled front bumper, including reshaped air intakes with new LED indicator lights. The disguised headlamps look like they will get a minor tweak as well. Out back is a reshaped bumper and LED taillights.

The Porsche Cayman will also feature similar, but not identical, revisions to its front and rear fascias.

The Boxster and Cayman will feature Porsche’s new direct-injection technology, called Direct Fuel Injection (DFI). Already in use on the facelifted 2008 Cayenne, Porsche claims a 13 percent increase in horsepower, while getting 15 percent better fuel economy.

The 2008 Boxster will debut at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show this fall.
