Now that the price of crude oil is rising again, U.S. retail gasoline prices are probably at the lowest we will see. While gas prices fell for most of January, prices at the pump are expected to rise this month.

“With the near-month crude oil futures price rising from a level close to $50 per barrel recently to nearly $57 per barrel (on Tuesday), retail gasoline prices have seemingly bottomed,” the federal Energy Information Administration said in its weekly review of the oil market.

The national price for regular unleaded gasoline as stablized, with prices remaining at $2.15 a gallon for a second week, after falling about 14 cents during the first half of January.
