BMW sales down 1.8 percent

BMW Group reported its January U.S. sales were down 1.8 percent from the same month in 2006.

BMW brand sales were up 2.1 percent, to 19,761 vehicles compared to the same period last year. MINI sales were off 30.4 percent in January, ahead of the launch of the MINI Cooper MkII.

The all-new MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S hardtops will go on sale in the United States on February 17th.
