We’ve seen plenty of test mules for Jaguar’s S-Type replacement, the forthcoming XF, but these are only the second set of spy shots of an XF prototype. Scheduled for launch this fall, the XF will feature styling cues seen on the C-XF Concept that was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show earlier this month.

The XF is expected to be powered by a range of six- and eight-cylinders, with the base engine the 3.2L in-line six that debuted in the Volvo S80. The replacement for the high-performance S-Type R, which could go by the XFR moniker, will likely feature a larger (and higher-power) 5.0L version of the currently 4.2L V8.

The production Jaguar XF is scheduled to be officially unveiled at this fall’s Frankfort Motor Show, with sales beginning soon after.
