Scion to reveal redesigned xB and new xD in Chicago

Toyota announced that it will stage the world premiere of the second-generation Scion xB and the all-new Scion xD at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show in February.
The second-generation xB is expected to share some design cues with the Scion t2b concept (shown) that debuted in New York in 2005. The xD will replace the xA in the Scion lineup.
Scion will hold a simultaneous virtual press conference in Scion City, in the virtual world “Second Life.” Scion will also release a video clip of the press conference for viewing the following day on the Scion.com website.

Scion to Reveal Two All-New 2008 Models At 2007 Chicago Auto Show

January 19, 2007 - Torrance, CA - Scion will stage the world premiere of the second-generation xB and the all-new xD at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show.
The Scion press conference will take place on Thursday, February 8 at 9:00 A.M. CT in the Grand Ballroom in McCormick Place, with a live simulcast to the Scion display area at the show.
Scion will also stage a simultaneous press conference in Scion City, in the virtual world “Second Life,” to introduce the computer-simulated versions of the two all-new 2008 vehicles. The virtual presentation will run parallel to the live press conference at McCormick Place. To participate in the virtual press conference, media must be a member of the Second Life community and register at www.scion.com/secondlifemedia by 5:00 P.M. CT on Friday, Feb. 2.
Registration for the virtual press conference will begin on Thursday, Jan. 25 and is limited to the first 500 media. Second Life registration is free and can be done at www.secondlife.com. Scion City was launched in November 2006 and allows the Second Life community to test drive and purchase Scion vehicles, learn about the brand, and participate in lifestyle and owner events.
A video clip of the Chicago press conference will be available for viewing the following day on the Scion.com website.
