BMW 1-Series coming to U.S. sooner than expected

BMW has said that it will bring a high-performance version of its three-door 1-Series hatchback to the United States, and it will arrive sooner than expected While official company statements say the 1-series is coming “within two years,” according to a source within the company, the 1-series will be announced for the U.S. market before the end of 2007 and sales should start early in 2008.
BMW will bring the 265-hp 130i and the yet-to-be-announced 306-hp 135i to the United States. Sales will initially start with the the three-door hatchback, but coupe and convertible versions will follow later on.
