Ford has begun testing of its restyled 2009 Mustang. With the forthcoming arrival of the Dodge Charger and Chevrolet Camaro, Ford is restyling its 2009 Mustang to keep it fresh when its competition arrives. Spy photographers caught the first testing mules, and, as expected, the 2009 Mustang will borrow styling cues from the Giugiaro Mustang Concept that debuted at the 2006 Los Angeles Auto Show. As can be seen from these photos, the prototype’s hoodline features the same graceful arc seen on the show car, as well as a similarly styled wheel arch.

While this is just a front end mule, likely testing cooling, the production 2009 Mustang is expected to feature restyled bodysides and rear end.
