Confirming previous news, the all-new Audi A5 coupe will make its world debut at the Geneva auto show in February, a senior company source has told the U.K.’s Autocar. The A5 will be the first Audi to use the new MLP platform, which stands for Modular Platform for longitudinally mounted engines promises better weight distribution, and ride and handling than previous Audi models. The new MLP platform is flexible enough to underpin future A4, A6 and A8 models, as well as spin-off models like the A5

The Audi source revealed that the chassis can be tuned for understeer, neutral handling or oversteer. “Our research revealed that the majority of drivers prefer understeer at the limit, but the A5 chassis can also be tuned for more expert drivers,” said the source.

The design of the A5 is inspired by the Nuvolari concept car, which was unveiled at the 2003 Geneva Motor Show.
