Land Rover considering an off-road coupe?

Land Rover is considering an affordable “off-road coupe” as part of the brand’s plan to reach out to young buyers, according sources cited by Autocar. The new Land Rover would be a three door coupe with a highly sloped roofline, and would be the “image” car in a range of sub-Freelander models.
“This would be Land Rover’s TT,” said one insider.
A concept version of the crossover could arrive in as few as 18 months. The go-ahead for production could come in the next three years. The “off-road coupe” and the other sub-Freelander models would not be available until 2013. Six years seems like a long way off, and Land Rover could be late to the game. If rumors are true, Porsche could have an SUV-coupe on the road before the end of the decade.
