With the embargo on the Lincoln MKR Concept broken, a flood of information about the concept has hit the web.
Since Car and Driver broke the embargo, AutoWeek released a video that it took at Ford’s Showroom of the Future event. In the video, Peter Horbury, Ford’s Executive Director of Design, North America, talks about the historical inspiration for the concept.
The Lincoln MKR is a rear-wheel drive sedan based on the Mustang’s platform, and features a twin-turbo V6 generating 415-hp that runs on E85. The double-wing grille, retro full-width taillamps, strong C-pillars and high beltlines will all be part of future Lincoln designs.
The Lincoln MKR Concept will be officially revealed at the Detroit Auto Show on January 7th.
