New MINI Cooper S facing production delay
December 26, 2006 10:57PM by Michael Savio
There have been rumors that MINI may halt production at its Oxford plant that produces the new R56 MINI. However, those rumors appear to be true. A source at the Oxford plant said that the stoppage is due to a leaky fuel pump on around on 3,000 Cooper S’.
The plant is closed for the Christmas and New Year’s holiday, and the rework area is full. There is no time frame for a production restart.
This shouldn’t affect MINI production for the U.S. launch of the R56.
