Detroit Preview: Mitsubishi Prototype X Concept
December 15, 2006 3:11PM by Michael Savio
Following the unveiling of its 2008 Lancer sedan earlier this week, Mitsubishi has released these sketches of the Prototype X Concept, which previews the high-performance EVO model. Mitsubishi show the Prototype X Concept at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
Looking a lot like the first two EVO concepts — the Concept X and the Concept Sportback — the Prototype X is expected to be close representation of the upcoming production model. The production car will go on sale the second half of 2007. If rumors are correct, the next-generation Evo will feature an available dual-clutch transmission, an all-new AWD system, and Super All Wheel control (S-AWC), which uses torque vectoring to direct torque to individual wheels. The S-AWC system also manages braking, throttle, and suspension adjustment.
