VW recalls over 300,000 Passats

Volkswagen has announced that it will recall over 300,000 Passat sedans and wagons because of problems with the windshield wipers, radiator and brakes. The affected Passat models are from model year 2005 to 2007.
Many of the recalled Passats have problems with the wiper motor, which can fail when exposed to moisture during heavy rain. Some diesel-powered Passats must be inspected because of a possible fuel leak. Those models equipped with a 200-hp engine may have a power brake vacuum line that can fracture at low ambient temperatures, resulting in the brake power assist becoming inoperative.
Roughly 130,000 cars are being recalled in Germany, while in the United States and Canada, some 62,000 Passats are affected.
