With pending return of the Chevrolet Camaro and the Dodge Challenger, the muscle car wars will get hot in the next few years. Speculation is beginning to spread about what Ford has planned to keep the Mustang fresh, with a revised model expected to arrive in 2009.

There have been rumors that the Giugiaro Mustang Concept shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show provides cues as to what the next Mustang will look like. This rendering features a shorter grille and headlamps inspired by the Giugiaro Mustang. Out back, there are little changes from the current model, without the boldly styled rear fenders of the concept.

The 2009 Mustang GT will likely get a horsepower boost into the 350+ range.
