Detroit Preview: Kia Kue concept
December 7, 2006 10:21AM by Michael Savio
Kia has announced that it will unveil the Kue concept — a crossover that hints at future styling — at the Detroit Auto Show in January. The Kue was designed at Kia’s design studio in California, and Kia says, “focuses more on giving the driver an exhilarating driving experience on the way to the home-improvement center than on how much it can haul.”
The Kia Kue crossover concept (say that fast!) rides on a unibody design and has a wheelbase of more than 114 inches, about the length of Mazda’s forthcoming CX-9, but with an overall length of just 186 inches, only 2 inches longer than the smaller CX-7. While Kia did not say if the Kue will make it to production, the next-generation Kia Sorento SUV is expected for the 2009 model year and will share the Hyundai Santa Fe platform.
