General Motors will unveil the HUMMER H4 concept in January at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, according to sources close to the automaker. The H4 is rumored/expected to be a smaller truck to compete with the Jeep Wrangler. A production version of the H4 concept would likely arrive for the 2010 model year. It is unclear what platform GM would underpin the H4, but a source says it will not be a front-wheel drive platform.

In June, it was rumored that General Motors would dump the Chevrolet TrailBlazer and replace it with a HUMMER H4. Bob Lutz, GM product czar said that HUMMER needs to add two or three more products to its lineup. GM is developing an H3 SUT expected to launch in 2007. GM is also working on an H3 pickup for the 2009 model year, sources say.
