Detroit Preview: Mitsubishi Lancer

Mitsubishi has announced it is planning to unveil its new Lancer at the 2007 North American International Auto Show in Detroit ahead of the car’s North American launch in the spring of 2007. Based on the automaker’s teaser sketch, the new Lancer will continue the design language introduced with the Concept-X, including an aggressive “shark nose” grille, wide stance and long hood/short deck profile.
Underneath the aggressive sheetmetal is the global platform shared with the new Outlander, Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, and several Peugeot Citroën products. Rumors have it the the EVO will also make an appearance in Detroit.
