The Chinese joint ventures of Ford and Hyundai have announced that they will recall over 151,000 cars produced in China to fix defects.

Ford said that its venture was recalling 52,838 Focus sedans — its best-selling vehicle in China — made between June 17, 2005, and July 30, 2006, to fix potential problems with the fuel pump.

Hyundai said it will recall 98,559 Elantra and Sonata models to fix potential problems with the vehicle’s ignition system. The affected cars were made between Oct 1, 2004, and March 22, 2005.
