Following the debut of the Audi R8 at the Paris Motor Show on Wednesday, the automaker has announced pricing for its new sports car. The mid-engine two-seater will start at 104,400 euros with the manual transmission and 111,790 euros for the R-Tronic version. The R8 has no other performance or mechanical options, but the five-spoke wheels shown in the official photos are a 1,540 euro option. The carbon fiber “side blade” adds 1,900 euros to the price tag. Interior carbon fiber trim upgrades will cost between 2,000 and 3,000 euros, depending on what the buyer select. A navigation system is a 2,270 euro option, and a Bang & Olufsen audio system is 1,440 euros.
Despite a simple euro to U.S. dollar conversion leading to a price on the north side of $135,000 U.S., we expect the manual model to come in just below $100K, with the R-Tronic version to be right around $105K. For comparision, a BMW M6 costs $96,100 and a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S is $88,400. The Aston Martin Vantage starts around $110,000. A Porsche 911 Turbo is priced at $122,000.
