Group Lotus has announced that it will offer its top-of-the-line 2007 Exige S in the U.S. market. The supercharged version of the Exige develops 220-hp from the Toyota sourced 1.8L four and with a weight of just 2,077lbs delivers 0-60 mph in a supercar challenging 4.1 seconds. The Exige S will reach the 100 mph mark in 11 seconds on its way to a top speed of 148 mph.
Light weight provides for not only spectacular acceleration, but helps to deliver fuel economy in the 25-30 mpg range. Final specifications are still to be released but it will be priced at $56,990.
