Lexus working on hybrid LF-A

According to the U.K.’s Autocar magazine, Toyota is working on a hybrid version of Lexus’ upcoming LF-A supercar. Toyota hinted at a hybrid supercar with its hybrid Volta supercar concept the was shown at the 2004 Paris Motor Show.
The hybrid LF-A will likely use the same powerplant as the Lexus 600h sedan, with a 5.0L V8 coupled to dual electric motors to produce a total output of 435-hp. The powertrain will likely make the car capable of delivering 0-60 mph times in under 4.0 seconds, and a top speed of over 200 mph.
The production LF-A is expected to debut at the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show and be the pace car for next year’s Japanese Grand Prix.
