SEAT revealed the Leon Cupra, its most powerful production model, at the British International Motor Show. The unveiling marks the first time the Spanish brand has used a UK show for a world premiere.

The 2.0L T FSI engine is an even more powerful version of the 197-hp petrol engine used in the just-launched Leon FR. For the Cupra, this direct-injection unit has an output of out a 236-hp and a 0-62mph time of 6.2 seconds as well as maximum speed of 153 mph.

The SEAT Leon Cupra is distinguished from other Leon models with new front bumpers, 18″ alloy wheels, black door mirrors, bucket-style seats, a Cupra steering wheel, gearknob and pedals.

The SEAT Leon Cupra will go on sale early next year.
