According to Auto Express, Toyota is reporting the production version of the LF-A will debut as the pace car at the 2007 Japanese Grand Prix, will move from the Suzuka circuit to the Toyota-owned Fuji Speedway for the first time in 30 years. The Japanese Grand Prix is scheduled at the same time as the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show and the official debut should occur there.
Toyota has promised that the LF-A will be the world’s most luxurious, best handling and safest supercar ever and as such will incorporate plenty of F1 technology. Toyota has dumped the aluminium body in favor of carbon fiber. The production version of the LF-A is expected to be powered by a 500-hp 5.0L V10. Weighing in just over 2,500 lbs with a top speed over 200 mph, its performance should be world class.
Since Toyota is still working on major changes to the car, buyers will have to wait until early 2009 to buy an LF-A.
